GSM Jafarullah ndc was born in a noble Muslim family of Narayanganj district in 1964. He passed SSC examination from St. Gregory’s High School in 1980 and HSC examination from Notre Dame College in 1982. He successfully completed Honor’s and Master’s degree in Soil science from University of Dhaka in 1986 & 1987 respectively.
His beloved wife Dr. Sharmin Hossain is serving with integrity and reputation at Ahchania Mission Cancer and General Hospital in Dhaka. In their family life, they are the proud parents of a son and a daughter.
He finished Managing at the top Course (MATT-1) from Singapore Public Service College, Governance and Effective Public Administration Course from India and Public Policy Science Delivery And Negotiations from Duke University, USA. Later, He also completed MBA from Prime University, Dhaka and Masters on Public Policy and Management from Northern University, Dhaka and Managing at the top Course (MATT-2) from Wolverhampton University, UK.
He is a proud member of 13th batch of BCS Administration Cadre and joined Bangladesh Civil Service in 1994 as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in Chittagong District. Later he served as Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in Sylhet District and Assistant Commissioner (Land) in Golapganj Upazila of the same district. He also served as Senior Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Deputy Collector (RDC), Land Acquisition Officer (LAO), Assistant Director (Local Government) in Moulvibazar district and Conducted a Speedy trial court as First Class Magistrate. He was working as Upazila Nirbahi Officer in Madhabpur of Habiganj district and Companiganj of Sylhet district. He served as Private Secretary to Secretary and Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission. He served as Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate with reputation and efficiency in Madaripur and Kishoreganj districts. He served as Joint Secretary to the Government in the Office of the President of Bangladesh after being promoted from the post of Deputy Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. He successfully completed National Defense Course (NDC) from National Defense College, Mirpur Cantonment in 2019. Later he was promoted to the post of Additional Secretary to the Government and served in the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Besides, before joining the present position on 31 December 2021, he had been working as Additional Secretary (Political and ICT) in the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
During his illustrious career, he has traveled to various countries including Singapore, UK, India, China, Thailand, USA, Malaysia, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kuwait, France and received training on various job related topics.
He has been recently promoted to Grade-1 and appointed as the Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.
